The Red Book

The Red Book reinforces the idea that our interactions with health care professionals are professional exchanges designed to benefit patients and to enhance the practice of medicine. It seeks to ensure that Helsinn conducts such interaction in a truthful manner, avoiding conflicts of interest with healthcare professionals, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The Red Book has been released in order to have transparent, globally harmonized and standardized processes when interacting with:

  • Healthcare Professionals
  • Patients
  • Patient Organizations
  • Healthcare Institutions

Our relationships with healthcare professionals, including our interactions with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and others who administer, prescribe, purchase or recommend regulated healthcare products, must meet the highest standards of integrity. All interactions with healthcare professionals by Helsinn around the world must comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional requirements and industry codes of conduct or practice.

  • Charitable contributions are subject to detailed internal policy and controls
  • Meals, Travel, Lodging, Other Expenses and Items Of Value Policy provides an overview of the requirements that apply to the offering or reimbursement of meals, lodging, travel expenses and other items of value to HCPs  and to establish compliance standards that apply for all Helsinn affiliates globally
  • Conflict of Interest Policy provides guidance for avoiding actual and potential business, financial or other direct or indirect conflict of interest situations and to ensure that Helsinn can conduct its business in an ethical manner
  • Speak Up Guideline and Non-Retaliation Policy focused on reporting any actions or situations that Helsinn employees reasonably believe or suspect violate the Code for Caring, any applicable law, regulation, policy, procedure, ethics and contractual obligations; no employee at any level is permitted to engage in retaliation, against any other employee for reporting such a concern in good faith
