Helsinn’s pharmaceutical business is a plus in the group’s Multiproject Integrated Licensing strategy.
The group’s commercial companies Helsinn Birex Therapeutics Ltd. and Ergha Healthcare Ltd. are engaged in marketing, positioning and selling Helsinn’s range of prescription (Aulin®, Mesulid®, Aloxi®, Klean-Prep®, Rapolyte®) and OTC products (Casacol) on the Irish market, thereby playing an important role as “marketing testers” for Helsinn’s new products. These companies also market in licensed original products from European companies as well as Brand generics.
The Irish subsidiaries represent an important player in the pharmaceutical local market with 28 REPs, a total IMS sales for 2006 of Euro 21 million (USD 27 mio) and a current 16th IMS ranking position, which places them among the most important groups. |
