Klean-Prep® is a consolidated and successful bowel preparation for patients undergoing colonoscopy, radiology and surgery.
Klean-Prep® is a balanced mixture of polyethylene glycol 3350 (PEG 3350) and electrolytes which, added to water, produces a clear, colourless, iso-osmotic solution. It acts as a bowel cleansing agent and allows a total cleansing in 4 to 6 hours.
Klean-Prep® can be taken at home and thus reduce hospitalization and nursing time, it has a high cleansing success rate (95%), superior to drugs of the same category, and is very well tolerated.

This product is marketed in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia, in addition to Canada where it was originated by Helix Biopharma.

Klean-Prep® is available in the following presentations:

• Four sachets in carton, shaker, transit pack (for mailing).
• Two sachets for children use in shaker.
• Loose sachets carton (for hospitals).

Flavour sachets can be available separately. Helsinn has licensed-out Klean-Prep to Angelini, Biotoscana, Helix, Helsinn Birex Therapeutics, Norgine, Quality Pahrma, Sulkaj and UCB.
